Funded by a generous grant from Governor Tim Kaine under the
Workforce Investment Act, ASTRACOR is forming training and
certification classes now for Fall of 2007. Training and
Certification programs will be offered FREE OF CHARGE to
residential construction workers interested in improving their
skills or earning a basic certification. Those who complete
the course will be entered into our database and made
available for employment offers. Most of the classes will be
short, intensive, one-day, hands-on projects.
As part of this project we invite limited income seniors,
families, churches and social service organizations in need of
free repairs of homes and facilities to contact ASTRACOR to be
considered for hosting an ASTRACOR training class. Work at
every ASTRACOR training class is supervised by expert
instructors with years of experience in their trade.
In addition, ASTRACOR has partnered with the Arlington Public
Schools
Office of Career,
Technical, and Adult Education
to offer more intensive BILINGUAL training in drywall hanging,
installation, finishing and repair, and ceramic tile
